Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and governs the kidneys, lower back, and buttocks. Positive traits include a rational, logical mind, a fine sense of aesthetics, diplomatic aplomb, good taste, charm, skill with words, intelligence, an innate sense of fairness and justice, and exceptional beauty. Negative characteristics include indecisiveness, excessive dependence on other people, conformist tendencies, manic depression, extravagance, and manipulation.

All Ravenclaws are intellectual, but Ravenclaw Libras have their heads in the clouds more than most (Pisces Ravenclaws may have them beat, but not by much). They are romantic and idealistic, and prefer to live in the world of pure theory rather than in the messy world of action. While social and pleasant, they are still quiet and shy, and rarely make the first move when in a group of people. In the classroom, they tend to wait to be called on, or raise their hands when they are sure that no one else knows the answer, but they do tend to be the teacher's pet on a fairly regular basis. It's hard to hate them for this, because they are so pleasant to everybody. Ravenclaw Libras are the most speculative (and indecisive) of all Libras, because they have the intellectual capacity to explore all ramifications of every action and reaction.

Personality
Sam's a really nice girl. Like... really, reallly nice. She's open to everyone and has a big heart. She firmly believes in giving a person more than one chance, because... really. Why hold grudges when life is short? Live it up! That said, she's friendly and has a smile for everyone, no matter how they may have treated her in the past. Because of this, it can be somewhat easy to take advantage of her. She won't catch on right away, but when she does? She can get very bitter, and maybe want to get back at that person in her own special way.

Samantha also has issues dealing with any strong emotions. She likes to be as mellow and relaxed as possible, so dealing with anything that can throw her off of that is something she does not want. She's mastered the art of ignoring and pretending things have not happened. Life is so much easier that way.

Sam is very open to others, and has a heart for everyone. If you need a shoulder to cry on, she'll hold you; if you need someone to listen, she'll lend an ear; if you're belly's aching, she'll make you a sandwich; etc. She's not all that shy, and is definitely able to just walk right up to people and start a conversation, or start drilling them with questions as she is known to do. She wouldn't be called an introvert or an extrovert, really. She's just a very open and caring person who wants the best for everyone.

She believes in fairness and justice for all, and will fight to the death for that. There’s a belief of ‘protect the innocent, not punish the guilty’—she’ll fight for those who need someone to fight for them, but she won’t actively go out to seek revenge for something done to her.

She’s a bit of clingy person, needing the acceptance and approval of others before she can move on with something. It’s hard for her to make up her mind about anything, which can leave her in a huge rut. If she’s stuck between two things, she does the Ravenclaw thing by weighing her options, but that doesn’t make the decision making process any easier.

When it comes to other people and getting what she wants, she’s not above manipulating them to her will. Guilt trips? Oh, yes. She’s definitely not past using those to get what she wants.

Over all, however, she's a sweetheart. The girl next door. Whatever you want to call it, she's a genuinely nice, optimistic person who looks for the best in everyone/thing.

Important People

andraleigh; Gryffindor. They're in the same year, different houses, but their insanely similar personalities led to them being close friends. They're both from the same hometown, are shy bookish types, and tend to be the 'sweetheart' type. Andra's definitely one of those people she can just relate to really well and be comfortable with.

bastian_myles; Gryffindor. Another kid she's managed to get close to, he's one of the few people she doesn't mind making a total fool out of herself around, and being completely silly. No matter what? Bastian somehow gets her smiling and happy, and he's one of the people she trusts more than anything. Plus... it doesn't hurt to have a cute male friend around.

charmingdarin; Hufflepuff. Thanks to

daridavison, these two met at a tutoring session for Potions and quickly became friends. Of course, it's always been a bit difficult at times to see each other because of the year age difference, but they managed quite nicely. Over time, she developed a bit (read: a huge) of a crush on the older boy, but was convinced he didn't, and wouldn't, feel the same way. She was proven wrong, however, and as of March 17, the two are happily dating. Needless to say, she trusts him completely and positively adores him.

edmcmillan; Slytherin, Auror. Oh, geez. Ed pretty much IS her big brother, blood related or not. She thinks the world of him and couldn't possibly believe, or accept, anything that could be bad about him. He's another one of the very few people she's completely at ease with being herself around. They have a silly, teasing relationship, and they keep each other in line. Usually.

rileymcgranahan; Slytherin. Cousin, protector, and one of Sam's closest friends. They've known each other since they were kids, obviously, and Riley's taken on an older sister role to the younger girl, which drives her crazy at times, but she's learned to deal with it. And, you know, secretly likes it but will continue protesting it.
